Dave Dahlstrom

Senior Hydrogeologist

Profile Picture

Dave Dahlstrom specializes in computer modeling of groundwater flow and contaminant transport; inverse modeling and model predictive analysis; and in the design, execution, and analysis of aquifer tests. Dave's primary focus in aquifer testing has been to gather information for the development, calibration, and verification of groundwater flow models. He has extensive technical experience in hydrogeologic site evaluation, geochemical modeling, and high-capacity well-field design including the design of radial collector wells.

Dave and his colleagues recently completed a proof-of-concept application regarding the simulation of radial collector wells using MODFLOW-USG.

Click here to download a paper describing the methods Dave and his colleagues developed for incorporating heuristic constraints in inverse groundwater flow models. Dave also developed methods for incorporating censored observations in inverse models.

Dave and his colleagues also recently developed methods for simulating complete transport pathways of atmospherically-dispersed solutes such as per- and  polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Click here to download a paper about these strategies.
