Summary

The person selected for this position will work on projects involving civil engineering and related technical assignments such as project management, design and analysis, civil engineering design with CADD modeling software, preparation of construction plans and specifications, and spreadsheet preparation.

Project responsibilities may also involve pumping-and-piping system design, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, writing reports, assistance with large report preparation, site development design, construction cost estimating, construction management and observation, and facility inspections.

Assignments may also include working with permitting agencies and public officials. The work may at times involve short-term out-of-town assignments.


Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • 4 years of related work experience, including civil design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D or other CADD-based civil design software
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain within one year
  • Flexible working style, self-initiative, self-motivation, and a willingness to work with teams to meet clients' needs and project schedules
  • Conscientiousness concerning the accuracy, appropriateness, and timeliness of results
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record


Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of related work experience
  • Familiarity with soil testing procedures and evaluation of test results
  • Familiarity with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software


NOTE: Applicants must be able to work in locations that feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and to enter and work within facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities. Job assignments may involve work at waste disposal sites and sites requiring cleanup of hazardous materials. An OSHA-mandated physical exam may be required; safety training will be provided.
