Barr is seeking an administrative assistant to join its Minneapolis office and support one of our four business units. Primary responsibilities will include providing the following support for internal and external meetings: scheduling across multiple offices; providing logistic support; coordinating catering; and providing WebEx support. Other assignments will include creating PDFs and copies; developing and editing presentation materials; performing word processing; assembling documents; creating and modifying Excel spreadsheets; serving as a backup for coordinating travel arrangements; supporting business unit leaders; and other administrative tasks as requested. Work will require frequent interaction with other administrative staff members, project managers, and internal teams to inform them of work status and coordinate the completion of tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in business management or administration, communications, or a related field plus two or more years of professional office experience. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of five years of professional office experience is expected
  • Strong client-service mentality and an attitude and desire to help teams be successful
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and task follow-through
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong listening skills
  • Self-initiative and motivation with emphasis on client service
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday in the office on a consistent basis, at minimum during the core business hours of 9a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • A flexible working style and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
  • Acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or administration, communications, or a related field
  • Experience with advanced functions of MS Word and Excel
  • Experience setting up and hosting conference meetings through WebEx
  • Experience with Deltek Vision
