This opportunity is for a business systems analyst with technical skills who will act as an internal consultant, engaging stakeholders across the organization on projects that support Barr’s business systems. The person in this position will work with users to map business processes, define requirements, and lead technical improvement projects that meet or exceed users’ expectations. The primary focus of this role is supporting the company’s HRIS (Epicor HCM) but there are additional opportunities to support other systems and lines of business.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing technical support for human resources (HRIS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), intranet, and custom systems
  • Assessing, defining, and resolving business process and system inefficiencies
  • Working with business partners and development resources to define and develop enterprise reporting as well as Barr’s enterprise data warehouse
  • Using MS SQL for data exploration, issue research and resolution, and fulfillment of ad hoc data requests
  • Participating in and leading multiple, concurrent projects
  • Eliciting and clearly documenting business and system requirements
  • Understanding the needs of multiple stakeholders and negotiating to manage expectations
  • Developing and executing test plans
  • Developing project documentation (such as business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, future state proposals, and test plans)
  • Assisting with database development and support
  • Providing project leadership for process improvements, system administration, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Serving as a mentor to HRIS users and administrators

  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, business, or a related field
    • Five years of experience in a business analyst or systems analyst role
    • Strong client service skills, including ability to understand, educate, and build relationships with internal clients and vendors
    • Solid analytic and problem-solving skills, including willingness to work independently to research issues
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, including ability to plan, monitor, and follow-through on work commitments and confirm priorities with stakeholders
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to understand, map, and document systems and processes and recommend improvements
    • Proven experience using relational database tools, with advanced query-writing (SQL) and Microsoft Excel skills
    • Previous system testing, upgrade, and conversion experience
    • Enterprise system administration experience
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship
    • Acceptable driving record

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong knowledge of human resources and/or finance concepts and practices
    • Knowledge of data warehouse development processes
    • Experience developing data warehouse or analytical tools for business purposes
    • Experience with ADP Payroll, Epicor Human Capital Management (HCM), Deltek Vision, and other HCM and ERP systems
    • Familiarity with O365 & Azure technologies (SharePoint Online, Power Apps, Teams, etc.)
    • Familiarity with MS SQL technologies (Power BI, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS – Tabular, etc.)
    • RFP/RFI experience
    • Experience using group process facilitation and process mapping tools
    • Coursework emphasis on or continuing education in database technologies or other IT-related courses
