With the Great Plains to the east and the Rocky Mountains to the west, Denver offers the excitement of urban living surrounded by inspiring nature. Residents of the Mile High City enjoy more than 300 days of sunshine a year for outdoor activities like skiing, kayaking, hiking, running, camping, and mountain biking across Colorado’s many landscapes, which include forests, mountains, mesas, hot springs, and sand dunes. The diverse and fast-growing metropolitan area is home to eclectic restaurants, museums, cultural celebrations, and craft breweries—most with pet-friendly patios—as well as six professional sports teams.
Barr’s Denver office opened in May 2019 with the acquisition of Marquez Environmental Services, an environmental consulting firm specializing in air permitting and compliance services for oil and gas clients. Later that year we acquired High Energy Inc., renowned for its electrical, structural, and civil engineering services for substations, overhead and underground transmission lines, and overhead distribution lines. Our integrated team of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists continues to grow to strengthen these core service areas and expand beyond them. From our downtown Denver location and our additional offices in the Intermountain West, we support clients in the fuels, power, mining, and public sectors throughout Colorado and neighboring states.
Our local staff are active members of professional organizations such as the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Society of Women Engineers, Air & Waste Management Association, and Women’s Energy Network. Our experience and diverse projects position us as one of Colorado’s leading environmental consulting and engineering firms for transmission, substation, air permitting, and compliance services, and we're prepared to help clients solve complex challenges and navigate new opportunities in both robust and emerging markets.
