Al has five decades of experience as an engineering consultant. He has directed or participated in hundreds of groundwater and soil contamination projects throughout the U.S. and has managed remedial investigations at wood-treating, oil-refining, coke-production, chemical-manufacturing, industrial-manufacturing, and mining facilities. Al has extensive experience serving on steering committees and policy-making groups, directing projects involving multi-jurisdictional regulatory agency involvement, and advising clients on technical issues at complex cleanup sites in numerous states. He also assists with regulatory negotiations to define appropriate site remediation and provides expert-witness services for civil trials, cost allocations, and insurance recovery matters.
