Nathan has 20 years of consulting and research experience in geotechnical engineering, geomechanics, poromechanics, and geophysics. He has geotechnical project experience working on tailings storage facilities (TSF) in the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America. Nathan performs technical oversight of geotechnical design for operational and reclaimed mine TSFs, as well as the design of greenfield conventional tailings and filter-cake storage facilities. Additionally, he has experience performing dam safety inspections and dam performance assessments. Nathan’s background includes advanced geotechnical laboratory testing, field investigation design, geological and hydrogeological site characterization, geotechnical instrumentation, liquefaction-triggering assessments, and seismic and vibration analysis, as well as finite-element and finite-difference numerical modeling.
