On March 1-5, the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME) Annual Conference & Expo will be held during the virtual event MINEXCHANGE 2021, which also includes the Colorado Mining Association’s 123rd National Western Mining Conference. Subtitled “Social License: Mining for the Future,” the conference will bring together thought leaders from across the industry to provide insights, information, and tools needed to excel in an era of innovation and economic change.
During the conference, Barr senior geotechnical engineer Russ Sheets (pictured below) will chair the session “Underground Geotechnical: Innovation and Technology.” His responsibilities include reviewing submitted abstracts, selecting speakers, and facilitating the virtual session.
Barr is a proud sponsor of the event and will also have a booth during the virtual tradeshow, which will be free for attendees and the public and will include opportunities for live chats with company representatives. We have been involved with SME for many years, and a dozen Barr staff members currently have leadership roles and sit on SME committees.
