Barr recently opened a satellite office in Reno, Nevada, at the request of a local client. “We’re excited to be in Reno to serve clients and support their growth and success here,” said John Quist, vice president and senior civil engineer at Barr. “Our long history in mining and experience across numerous markets positions Barr to assist a wide variety of clients in Reno as well as the broader region.”
One of these clients is Nevada Copper. Barr’s work for Nevada Copper’s Pumpkin Hollow location began with electrical design and control engineering in 2012 and has expanded to include mechanical, electrical, and structural design for both underground and aboveground operations.
“Being available locally is important,” said Brad Dunn, a senior mining geologist who helped plan the new Reno office. “It allows us to respond quickly to new demands as Nevada Copper builds a new mine at the Pumpkin Hollow location.”
