Barr Engineering and Environmental Science Canada Ltd. has relocated to a new downtown office space to support local staff and client needs.
A growing engineering and environmental consulting firm, Barr has offices across North America and has had a presence in Calgary since 2010. Originally opened to serve clients in oil sands and tailings management, Barr’s Calgary office today provides integrated consulting services to clients in the mining industry as well as in power, fuels, manufacturing, and the public sector.
Barr’s Canada-based services have grown to include environmental management, environmental assessment and permitting, and geotechnical, civil, and process engineering. The company continues to hire local staff to meet dynamic client needs and has established a presence in Saskatchewan and Ontario.
“Our new office will support staff and client needs for a flexible, inviting work environment that fosters collaboration and productivity,” said Blaine Renkas, a Barr vice president and senior environmental consultant. “We’re excited about the future for Barr in Canada as we continue to apply our company’s unique approach to solving our clients’ most complex challenges.”
Barr’s engineers and scientists are active members of professional organizations like the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM), the Mining Association of Canada (MAC), Canada's Oil Sands Innovation Alliance (COSIA), and the Canadian Dam Association (CDA).
