Installing strain gages at stormwater storage facility June 19, 2020 Yesterday, at the I-35W Stormwater Storage Facility (SSF), Barr staff worked with Kraemer Nicholson Joint Venture and the Minnesota Department of Transportation to install embedded strain gauges into the SSF diaphragm walls now under construction. Information from these instruments will allow the project team to monitor strain development within the diaphragm wall as excavation in the facility’s cell commences. When complete, the underground structures will alleviate flooding along the interstate corridor.
