SeaWorld’s objective was to have the most exciting river rapids ride in Florida and selected Barr to assist its creative team with the river’s design. The project required fitting the river within a repurposed site and providing scenic views to park guests. Barr's final design consisted of two exciting rivers with whitewater similar to real-life class IV rapids.
The rivers are created by two 135,000-gallon-per-minute pump stations that create large rapids, multiple 3-foot drops, and fast water, all of which result in significant boat spin. Barr worked with SeaWorld’s creative team to deliver the desired amount of splash into the boat, as well as the spacing and sequencing of rapids and drops to provide excellent timing and excitement for riders. These elements also provide fun interaction and great river optics for park guests on the adjacent walkways and viewing areas.
Infinity Falls opened to park goers in October 2018.
